My Wading Boots

After many years, I sadly in December had to retire my Simms wading boots. I had sent them in for repairs, but they weren’t salvageable.

So, I went online and found some new ones, the Orvis Encounter Wading Boots. Amazingly, they were on sale and came with free screw-in studs, which are needed when you wade among slick boulders, such as the Westfield’s East Branch or Millers.

I’ve been fishing with the new boots for a few months. I can say that I really like them. They’re lightweight, tightly grip slick rocks, and are comfortable to wear. Most of all: I don’t notice them.

I think wading boots are the best when you don’t notice them and can fish all day without a second thought.
